Mortal Realm Witch

Meet the Characters!

This is DWW in both her human and wolf forms.

DWW is 11 when her first story takes place. At this time she isn't very responsible and upon learning she is a witch she begins her training to learn how to use her new powers.

Trillman, the Golden Retriever you will meet next, is both her dog and familiar. This means that he is responsible for teaching her and finds it very hard due to the fact that not only does he have to teach her magic, but responsibility as well.

Throughout  Book One, DWW finds learning responsibility to be a challenge, and only upon learning about herself through the teaching of two magical wolf pups does she finally begin to see herself as her teachers do.

From this moment on, DWW begins to get more and more responsible, leading up to the biggest event in her life which requires a very responsible witch to handle it.

When DWW's new life in the Other Realm begins, starting in Book Two, DWW has now become one of the most responsible witch in the Realms, which is a very good thing because her challenges have only just begun!

From learning responsibility to stopping Sampson's various plans to take over the Realms, and from attempting to unite the two Realms to raising her stubborn and adventurous daughter Asantra, DWW faces many challenges throughout the series.

DWW's biggest goal throughout the series is for mortals to finally see witches as they really are. Not as villains, but as friends. To accomplish this goal, in Book One, she begins by teaching  the readers of her stories everything she has learned since becoming a witch as well as sharing her journey about how she became who she is today.

DWW will use her wolf form in both books one and five. DWW herself will be in most of the books in the series, excluding the one or two guidebooks that this series will have, and the third companion book.

This is Trillman, a Golden Retriever. He may be DWW's familiar now but once he was a warlock with magical powers of his own. He was turned into a familiar by Trom, who you will meet next, after he broke a big Other Realm rule.

Trillman, unlike his breed, isn't the most patient guy in the world. As he struggles to teach DWW magic he begins to realize that she is lacking responsibilty. Not knowing how to teach this leads to much conflict between himself and his witch as Trillman begins to lose patience with her. At the time he doesn't know it, but it's not DWW he is impatient with but himself.

Due to his past, which you will get the chance to learn about in Trillman's Tales, Trillman failed at something that makes him push extra hard to be successful with DWW, but it is trying too hard which becomes his problem. This ultimately leads to Trillman and DWW seperating from each other.

Somewhere though, Trillman knows, as dogs often instinctively do, that DWW is his perfect human and they belong together, but until they are apart he fails to see this.

Later, Trillman learns much about himself when he has conflict with another witch, Asantra.

You can meet Trillman in Mortal Realm Witch: Learning About Magic. He is also in Mortal Realm Witch: The Magic Continues, Mortal Realm Witch: Realms Unite?, Mortal Realm Witch: The Magical Adventures of DWW2, Mortal Realm Witch: Misadventures of a Teenage Witch, Mortal Realm Witch: The Final Chapters, and Mortal Realm Witch: Untold Tales From the Series.

You can read part of the first story featured in Trillman's Tales, a two story mini book that will be available as an eBook. Both stories will also be featured in Mortal Realm Witch: Untold Tales from the Series.

Have you ever wanted to know more about a character or a book either before or after reading it? ...

This is Trom and he is actually several hundred years older than he looks and the first Head of the Witches Council that you will meet in this series. He is very strict about the rules and has been known to take no excuses for breaking them no matter what the reason may be. When not breaking any rules, Trom is fairly easygoing and likeable. He is the first one to see DWW's potential as a witch and will do whatever it takes for her to reach this.

When it comes to DWW, his teaching methods may seem a bit unusual and you will wonder how they could possibly work with a witch like her who constantly uses her powers irresponsibly, but Trom knows exactly what he is doing and it really shows by the end of the book.

Living in the Other Realm Trom doesn't have to keep any secrets about himself being a warlock. However he does have a secret that almost no one knows about him. You will learn this secret in Mortal Realm Witch: Realms Unite? as well as learn the orgin of his secret in Book Five. Once you learn it, many things about DWW and events that happen in Book One will be much clearer as to why everything happened the way it did. This includes a detailed look inside Trom's plan for teaching DWW. Trom's secret will play an important role at the end of Book Three, as well as in Books Four and Five.

Trom is one of the first characters you will meet in Mortal Realm Witch: Learning About Magic, and he will also be in Mortal Realm Witch: The Magic Continues, Mortal Realm Witch: Realms Unite?, Mortal Realm Witch: The Magical Adventures of DWW2, Mortal Realm Witch: Misadventures of a Teenage Witch, Mortal Realm Witch: The Final Chapters, and Mortal Realm Witch: Untold Tales From the Series

This is Max, a chocolate Labrador Retriever. He is a very loyal and friendly familiar. He is very skilled at teaching magic users how to use their powers and because of this he will be in charge of teaching more than one witch in the Mortal Realm Witch series.

When teaching magic users, Max doesn't use structured teachings like Trillman tried to do with DWW, rather he prefers to guide magic users on their journeys to learn how to use their powers. Basically he allows them to use magic however they want, within limits, and learn from their experiences in this way. He may suggest doing or not doing certain things but never feels the need to tell them what they have to or can't do with their magic. Max is always there to give advice when it is needed and often is viewed as not a teacher, but a friend.

Besides Mortal Realm Witch: Learning About Magic, Max is in Mortal Realm Witch: The Magic Continues, Mortal Realm Witch: Realms Unite?, Mortal Realm Witch: The Magical Adventures of DWW2, Mortal Realm Witch: Misadventures of a Teenage Witch, Mortal Realm Witch: The Final Chapters, and Mortal Realm Witch: Untold Tales from the Series.

This is Ally and her dragon and best friend Air Raid.

In her first story, in Book One, Ally is a young witch much like DWW. She is a bit stubborn and determined to do what she wants, but unlike DWW she doesn't break any rules. All Ally wants in this first story is to find the familiar that is right for her.

In her second appearance, in the main series, Book Three, Ally has grown up a lot, and hasn't changed much in personality unlike DWW, but she does appear to be a little less patient than she used to be, but that could just be due to the situation DWW puts her in.

Air Raid is a somewhat wacky dragon. He is willing and eager to please, much like a dog, which makes him easy to work with, but he often seems to mess things up. Sometimes this leads to some funny and memorable moments for himself and Ally. No matter what happens Air Raid is not known for giving up and will keep trying until he gets things right or until Ally convinces him to do something else.

Ally and Air Raid are in Mortal Realm Witch: Learning About Magic in the story: Dragon Familiar, Mortal Realm Witch: Realms Unite?, Mortal Realm Witch: Untold Tales from the Series, and Tales of Other Realm Creatures: The Third Mortal Realm Witch Series Companion in the story: The History of Dragons and Unicorns. They will also be in a comic book style video with an all new story called: Ally & Air Raid in: Book Light, which will be available to watch on YouTube and in the extra's on this site. The comic book style video takes place during the same time period as his story in Book One, when Air Raid is still in training with Ally.

Ally and Air Raid are also mentioned in Mortal Realm Witch: The Magic Continues

This is Turtle and her mouse familiar. Turtle is the first character you will meet in Mortal Realm Witch: The Magic Continues. Turtle won't be breaking many rules but that doesn't mean she won't find herself in trouble.

From dealing with the worst familiar in the Realms to making some of the first big discoveries of the series, Turtle's challenges start off tougher than DWW's ever did! Right from the start Turtle has dealings with the series villain and DWW's archenemy, Sampson, then closely following this challenge comes the threat of witch hunters!

In the story of Magic Mayhem in Book Two, unlike DWW who spent much time trying to teach you about witches, Turtle is still learning things about magic so you will get to learn more about witches as well as about wizards, sorcerers, and sorceresses right along with her. This information will be put to good use and prepare you for Books Four and Five, where witches, wizards, and sorceresses join together.

Turtle will make several big discoveries in Mortal Realm WItch: The Magic Continues. She will also be in, Mortal Realm Witch: Realms Unite?, Mortal Realm Witch: The Magical Adventures of DWW2, Mortal Realm Witch: The Final Chapters and Tales of Other Realm Creatures: The Third Mortal Realm Witch Series Companion.

This is Taron. He is a wizard who is friends with the witch Turtle. Later he becomes the father of a wizard called Sky.

Turtle meets Taron in Book Two where he teaches her what he knows about wizards, sparking Turtles interest in learning more about the different types of magic users in existence. Because of Turtle, Taron will become one of the first wizards to be allowed into the Other Realm.

You will meet Taron in Mortal Realm Witch: The Magic Continues. Taron will then return in Mortal Realm Witch: Realms Unite?, Mortal Realm Witch: Tales of Other Realm Creatures, and will  be mentioned in Mortal Realm Witch: Misadventures of a Teenage Witch.
This is Alaska. She is a calico cat and the familiar of a warlock, whose name you won't learn until you read his story: The Warlock in Mortal Realm Witch: The Magic Continues. Alaska sometimes gives the impression that she is lazy and uncaring, but when her warlock needs her she will be always be there even when it leads her into trouble.

Besides Mortal Realm Witch: The Magic Continues, Alaska and her warlock will be in Mortal Realm Witch: Realms Unite?

This is Asantra. Besides being a witch she is the daughter of DWW. She has all the same powers and abilities as her mom, but often uses them in different ways. Asantra often finds herself in trouble for various reasons.

Whether she is helping superheroes find their missing friend as the hero Wonder Wolf, borrowing an alien spaceship to get out of doing her science project, exploring a secret lab, or spending, what should be, an average day in the Mortal Realm, Asantra always manages to find adventure and trouble.

When not on an adventure or getting into trouble, Asantra can be found with her wolf pack, The Fire Pack. While she isn't always responsible with her powers, when it comes to The Fire Pack she takes her duties seriously.

Asantra first appears in Mortal Realm Witch: The Magical Adventures of DWW2. She then returns in the last two books in the series.

Check out Asantra's interview on Joleene Naylor's blog: http://joleenenaylor.wordpress.com/2013/06/01/interview-with-asantra/

This is Screetche, he is a Double X Bird as well as Asantra's loyal familiar and best friend. While in the Mortal Realm he poses as Asantra's dad and is supposed to keep Asantra out of trouble, he occasionally finds his efforts leading him right into her adventures.

Screetche will be in Mortal Realm Witch: The Magical Adventures of DWW2, and the last two books in the series. His biggest role is in the final book.
This is Sky, a wizard, the daughter of Taron, and one of Asantra's two human friends. Sky is almost always ready and willing to join Asantra on one of her adventures, and is always ready to help Asantra clean up the magical messes that she makes.

Although not a trouble maker by nature, Sky often finds herself in trouble along with Asantra no matter how hard they both try to fix things before anyone finds out, but she doesn't mind too much.

Sky make a short appearence in Mortal Realm Witch: The Magical Adventures of DWW2 and be a main character in Mortal Realm Witch: Misadventures of a Teenage Witch. She also has a role in Mortal Realm Witch: The Final Chapters.
This is Jill, a sorceress and one of Asantra's two human friends. Jill is always around, usually trying to keep Asantra out of trouble, which was a request made by DWW. She very rarely joins Asantra in her adventures, knowing that they only lead to trouble.

Jill is highly responsible and prefers to avoid getting in trouble, but even so, still occasionally finds herself in it.

Jill will be in Mortal Realm Witch: The Magical Adventures of DWW2, Mortal Realm Witch: Misadventures of a Teenage Witch and Mortal Realm Witch: The Final Chapters
This is Sampson, a Goldfish familiar with a long history of causing trouble. He wasn't always a fish, once he was a warlock with the dream of taking over the Realms, which is still a goal of his. One day Sampson believes that this will happen, but will it?

You will meet Sampson for the first time, as a young warlock, when DWW meets him in the last story of Mortal Realm Witch: Learning About Magic. Then he will return in Mortal Realm Witch: The Magic Continues, Mortal Realm Witch: Realms Unite?, Mortal Realm Witch: Misadventures of a Teenage Witch, and Mortal Realm Witch: Untold Tales from the Series in which he finally gets to tell his full story, from before he met DWW to present day.

By Sampson's demand he will finally get to do what he loves to do most, talk about himself and his various plans throughout the series. Because the story is his take on all the events of the Mortal Realm Witch series, Sampson is nice enough to leave you with the following warning in his story:

"What I am about to share with you is not just a story, it is a journal of my life, and yes it contains some spoilers. So if you would prefer to keep the events of my life, that happen in the stories told by others, a surprise, go and read my parts in the Mortal Realm Witch series, books 1-5, then return here. Otherwise keep reading."
